September 26, 2023 1 min read

The Central Bank of Nigeria and partner agencies within the National Financial Inclusion Governance Committees are set to discuss the role of fintech-driven solutions, artificial intelligence, and more in improving financial inclusion in the country.

The apex bank stated that that would be the focus of the second edition of its International Financial Inclusion Conference themed β€˜Financial Inclusion for All: Global Insights for Local Impact,’ scheduled for October 5-6, 2023, in Lagos.

In a statement, the bank said that IFIC 2023 would be an engagement platform for global thought leaders, regulators, and other stakeholders to discuss and collaborate on contemporary strategies for accelerating financial inclusion on the African continent and globally.

The statement read in part: β€œKeynote speakers include Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, Dr Chea Serey; Executive Director, Alliance for Financial Inclusion, Dr Alfred Hannig; and former Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Dr Reza Baqir.

β€œKey topics to be explored include fintech-driven last mile solutions, leveraging big data and artificial intelligence, inclusive product innovation (non-interest finance), leveraging payment systems to scale financial inclusion in excluded segments – women, rural, youth and MSMEs, Consumer protection, fraud and data privacy, among others.
