BREAKING 🇳🇬⚖️: EKITI COURT SENTENCES TWO KIDNAPPERS TO DEATH

June 25, 2026 1 min read

An Ekiti State High Court in Ado Ekiti has sentenced Ibrahim Abubakar and Abdullahi Abubakar to death by hanging for the April 22, 2022 kidnapping of Omoboade Adesina, a staff member of the National Youth Service Corps.

Chief Judge Lekan Ogunmoye convicted the pair after finding that the DSS prosecution proved the case beyond reasonable doubt, relying on evidence including an identification parade and call data analysis. A third defendant, Usman Abubakar, was discharged after the court found no sufficient evidence connecting him to the crime.
