Anyaoku, Rallies The Patriot For National Conference March 18

All is set for a national dialogue to commemorate 10 years anniversary of the 2014 National Confab and to set a popular agenda for the constitution review process of the federal government.

The dialogue organised in honour of the late Prof Ben Nwabueze SAN, CON, is scheduled to hold next week Monday, March 18, in Lagos.

This was made known in a press statement made available to newsmen and signed by General Secretary, The Patriots; Eminent National Leaders of Thought Group, Comrade Wale Okunniyi.

The group led by elderstatesman, His Excellency, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, GCON, CFR, former secretary-general, Commonwealth of Nations, said the dialogue was also meant to determine constitutional future of Nigeria.

“Elderstatesman, His Excellency, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, GCON, CFR, Former Secretary General, Commonwealth of Nations & Chair of The Patriots on Behalf of the Eminent Leaders of Thought Group on Sunday announced the Convocation of a National Dialogue on the constitutional future of Nigeria under the Theme: Lawful Procedures for Actualising a People’s Constitution For Nigeria.

“In a major National Broadcast, the New Chairman of the Eminent Leaders of Thought Group popularly known as the Patriots announced that the National Dialogue, which is aimed at mobilising Nigerians towards a new prosperous Nigeria, will hold at the Nigeria Institute of International Affairs, NIIA, Victoria Island, Lagos on Monday, 18th March, 2024 in Honour of Late Prof Ben Nwabueze SAN, CON, a foremost Champion and Protagonist of the 2014 National Confab inaugurated 10 Years ago on 17th March, 2014 by President Goodluck Jonathan and whose body was laid to rest last week in Atani, Anambra State.

“The historic National Colloquium is also expected to set a popular citizens’ agenda for the ongoing constitution review process initiated by the Nigerian National Assembly towards the political reconfiguration, cohesion and stability of Nigeria through a new democratic people’s constitution being advocated to replace the subsisting military decree No 24 of 1999 still in force in Nigeria as the 1999 Constitution (as amended)

“Invited to address and participate at the National Summit are Keynote Speakers, Discussants, The Presidency, Former Presidents, Former Vice Presidents, Serving and Former Governors, Leadership of the Senate and House of Reps, Traditional Rulers, Eminent National Leaders of Thought, Scholars, Members of the Judiciary, Captains of the Private Sector, Leaders of Organised Civil Society and Labour, among other Nigerians.”
