The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has carried out a precision airstrike on a suspected ISWAP gathering in Yaganari, Borno State, neutralising several terrorists in the early hours of July 17.

According to military sources, persistent aerial surveillance tracked insurgents moving within the area and assembling beneath a tree. After confirming the target, the Air Component launched a precision strike at about 12:32 a.m., hitting the gathering and causing significant casualties.

Initial Battle Damage Assessment indicated that several terrorists were neutralised. Aerial surveillance continued after the strike to monitor fleeing insurgents and identify opportunities for follow-on operations.

The strike forms part of ongoing intelligence-driven counterterrorism operations aimed at disrupting terrorist activities and restricting insurgent movement across the North-East.
