August 6, 2023 2 min read

Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, has clarified the reasons behind his support for the nomination of his predecessor, Adeboyega Oyetola

He stated that his commitment to the overall interest of Osun State and all its citizens, regardless of political affiliations, was his guiding principle in serving the people.

Governor Adeleke emphasized that the election process had been concluded, and it was time for all Osun people to unite and work together for the development of the state.

He further expressed political maturity, noting that there was no need to withdraw the support of the three PDP senators for Mr. Oyetola to avoid embarrassing him.

Regarding his plans for the state, the governor highlighted the focus on developing the business sector, seeking new partnerships with federal and international agencies, and driving investment into the state.

He expressed a sense of urgency to transform Osun from a civil service state to an industrialized one.

The meeting was attended by notable party figures, including the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, the party’s Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagun, Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja, and the National Vice Chairman (South-South), Chief Dan Orbih.

Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta State), Gov. Peter Mbah (Enugu State), Gov. Godwin Obaseki (Edo State), Gov. Kefas Agbu (Taraba State), and Gov. Dauda Lawal (Zamfara State).
