The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested three officials of the State Ministry of Labour, Empowerment and Productivity following an investigation into the disappearance of government equipment worth about N500 million.

The suspects, whose identities have not been disclosed, were taken into custody after police traced the missing items to the ministry’s stores. The equipment was allegedly stolen and sold off by the suspects over a period of time.

Police sources confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that more arrests may be made as the case unfolds. The suspects are currently being held for questioning.

The Bayelsa State Government has yet to comment on the development. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
