Ridwan, one of the 39 pupils abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State, has recounted his harrowing experience in the kidnappers’ den during the 56 days of captivity.

In an exclusive interview, Ridwan shared moments of his ordeal, describing how the abductors treated the captives. “They cooked rice for us, and whenever rain was about to fall, they covered us with nylon,” he said.

His testimony paints a picture of survival under harsh conditions, where the children were fed sparingly and exposed to the elements. Despite the difficult circumstances, Ridwan expressed gratitude for being alive and reunited with his family.

The victims were rescued on July 10, 2026, following a coordinated security operation. They are currently receiving medical and psychological support.
