Nigeria emerged as the highest performing African economy on the Economic Performance pillar of the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) World Competitiveness Ranking 2026, outperforming South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia and Botswana. The achievement is being celebrated as a major endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms and his administration’s drive to strengthen growth, boost investor confidence and improve Nigeria’s global competitiveness.
