The Lagos Rail Mass Transit Blue Line has transported more than five million passengers since its launch two years ago, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has disclosed.

The Governor, in a statement on Wednesday, expressed pride at the progress made since the commissioning of the project, noting that the Blue Line has operated safely without a single accident.

According to him, trains on the corridor now run every ten minutes, completing more than 90 trips daily and significantly reducing travel time for commuters.

To commemorate the second anniversary, Sanwo-Olu announced a 50 percent reduction in fares on the Blue Line for Thursday, September 4, 2025.

β€œThis project belongs to all of us, and it is your belief in a greater Lagos that makes progress possible,” the Governor said, adding that the Blue Line reflects his administration’s commitment to building systems that serve the people.

He reiterated that the state government will continue to improve public transport infrastructure to make movement across Lagos easier, safer, and faster.
