Tension broke out at Niger Delta University (NDU), Bayelsa State, after a fight erupted between a lecturer and a female student inside a lecture hall.

Eyewitnesses said the heated confrontation, which began as a verbal exchange, quickly escalated into a physical altercation, throwing the class into confusion. Students reportedly fled the hall while others recorded the incident on their phones, videos of which have since gone viral on social media.

The cause of the fight remains unclear, but students allege it may have been triggered by a disagreement over class rules and academic-related issues.

The university authorities are yet to issue an official statement as of the time of this report, but sources within the institution say the matter is under investigation.

The incident has sparked outrage and mixed reactions online, with many condemning the lecturer’s actions and others calling for a thorough probe to determine what led to the clash.
