The Federal Government has unveiled plans to establish cattle breeding centers in all six regions of Nigeria, a move aimed at boosting livestock development and enhancing food security.

This initiative was disclosed by the Minister of State for Agriculture, Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, during a citizens’-government engagement and midterm assessment of the Tinubu administration, organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation in Kaduna.

According to Dr. Abdullahi, the success of this initiative hinges on the collaboration and synergy among key ministries, including Agriculture, Environment, Water Resources, Livestock Development, and the Blue Economy.

“The synergy and collaboration of the Ministries of Agriculture, Environment, Water Resources, Livestock Development, and the Blue Economy are imperative for delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he emphasized.

The establishment of cattle breeding centers is expected to have a positive impact on the livestock sector, enhancing cattle production and productivity.

This move aligns with the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to improve the lives of Nigerians through sustainable development and economic growth.

The Minister’s disclosure has generated optimism among stakeholders, who believe that the initiative will help address some of the challenges facing the livestock sector, such as inadequate breeding infrastructure and poor cattle management practices.

President Tinubu’s government is set to enhance Nigeria’s food security and economy through the cattle breeding centers, leveraging collaborative efforts.
