Adewale Adeoye, a seasoned journalist and esteemed editor, marks another milestone birthday, and it is our privilege to honor his contributions to the profession.

With a career spanning multiple decades, Adewale has left an indelible mark on the Nigerian media landscape.

His tenure as an editor and deputy editor at The Nation Sunday and his stint as a senior journalist at Punch Newspapers are evidence to his unwavering commitment to journalistic integrity and excellence.

As the Executive Director of Journalists for Democratic Rights (JODER), he continues to champion the rights of journalists and promote democratic values.

Adewale’s impressive academic credentials, including a BA from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a Master’s degree from the University of Lagos, have served as a solid foundation for his illustrious career.

His passion for environmental rights activism has earned him recognition as a leading voice in the field.

Throughout his career, Adewale has garnered numerous accolades, including four Nigerian Merit Awards (NMMA), the Steve Biko Scholarship, and the CNN African Journalist of the Year award.

His appointment as a board member of the International Press Center (IPC) is an indicator to his expertise and dedication to promoting press freedom.
