Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commissioned two significant road projects in the state, marking a major milestone in his administration’s infrastructure development drive.

The projects include the Abaranje Road in Igando-Ikotun and the newly named Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road in Dopemu.

The Governor made this announcement on his X handle, seen by The Yoruba Times, where he wrote, “Today, we commissioned two major road projects, Abaranje Road in Igando-Ikotun and the newly named Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road in Dopemu.”

According to Sanwo-Olu, the transformation of Abaranje Road is a testament to his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure. He noted that the road, which “used to be nearly impassable,” has been transformed into “a completely transformed dual carriageway with proper drainage, streetlights, and pedestrian walkways.”

The Governor highlighted the impact of these roads on residents and commuters, stating that “these roads mean quicker commutes, safer walks, better business, and real relief for residents and commuters.”

In Dopemu, the Governor’s administration has rebuilt a busy 1.8km road to meet the needs of a growing population and faster traffic flow.

Sanwo-Olu also addressed the issue of traffic congestion in the state, particularly at the Ikotun Roundabout, a major traffic trouble spot.

“We’re planning a flyover there to finally ease the daily gridlock,” he stated, adding that “we’re working on it to get it right.”

The Governor assured residents that this is just the beginning of more developments to come, saying, “Alimosho, this is just the beginning, more is coming. We’re not leaving any part of Lagos behind.”
