President Bola Tinubu has made a significant appointment in the North Central region, naming Barr. Cosmas Akighir as the Chairman of the Board of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC). Akighir hails from Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State.

The North Central Development Commission is a regional development body aimed at fostering growth, infrastructure development, and economic advancement across the North Central states.

The commission’s establishment has brought together Governors and lawmakers from the region to strategize on its effective implementation, ensuring a smooth takeoff and avoiding pitfalls experienced by similar commissions in other parts of the country.
