Cardinal Kevin Farrell announced the passing of Pope Francis, stating, “Dearest brothers and sisters, it is with deep sorrow that I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis.”

According to report, Pope died on Monday at 7:35 am, following a brief appearance at Saint Peter’s Square on Easter Sunday.

Despite struggling with illness, Francis delivered his “Urbi et Orbi” blessing, wishing the crowd a “Happy Easter” and advocating for freedom of thought and tolerance.

As the first Pope from the Americas and a trailblazer for reform, Francis leaves a lasting legacy.

“His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and His church,” the Cardinal noted.
