A shocking discovery has led to the arrest of three individuals in Ogii, a community in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria.

According to the police spokesperson in the state, Henry Okoye, the suspects were found in possession of a human skull, a native hen, and white garments, which are often used for ritual purposes in Nigeria.

The suspects, identified as Patrick Okoere (29), Ifeanyichukwu Anyaemeka (28), and Chukwuemeka Onyekachi (20), were apprehended by police operatives from the Okigwe Divisional Police Headquarters on February 3.

Residents of the Ogii Community assisted in the arrest.

During interrogation, Okoere claimed that his uncle, Osunta Oko, had instructed him to acquire a human skull.

β€œHe claimed to have found it along a riverbank on the Okigwe-Umuahia Expressway, an area where the (Imo State Police) Command has received cases of kidnappings,” Okoye said.

The police are now investigating Osunta Oko and other potential accomplices.

A DNA analysis is also underway to determine the identity of the skull’s owner. “The Imo State Police Command is actively pursuing Osunta Oko and other possible accomplices in connection with this disturbing incident,” Okoye added.

The Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Aboki Danjuma, has reassured residents that the police will remain committed to ensuring their safety.

Okoye emphasized that the police are determined to prosecute the suspects to ensure justice is served.
