Makinde did not offer me slots for Commissionerhip, Ajimobi

June 20, 2023 1 min read

Former first lady of Oyo State, Florence Ajimobi, has denied the allegation that Governor Seyi Makinde offered her commissioner slots.

The late Abiola Ajimobi, Florence Ajimobi’s husband, served as the governor of Oyo State from 2011 – 2019 on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) before his demise in 2020.

A news report had circulated online, claiming that Governor Makinde, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), offered Mrs Ajimobi two commissioner slots.

Florence had, in a statement by her media aide, Bolaji Tunji, debunked the claim, stating that no such offer had been discussed or received.

The statement expressed the former first lady’s high regard for Governor Makinde and acknowledged his efforts in displaying good leadership qualities and working towards unifying the state.

It dismissed the allegation of commissionership slots as the work of mischief makers.

In summary, Florence Ajimobi refuted the claim that she was offered commissioner slots by Governor Seyi Makinde and expressed her admiration for his leadership.

The statement attributed the allegation to individuals spreading misinformation.
