A tragic incident occurred in Anambra State as gunmen enforcing a sit-at-home order killed a vigilante commander and injured others.

The attack took place when the gunmen attempted to enter Nnewi via Nnobi in the Idemili Local Government Area.

According to reports, the Nnewi vigilante group had received intelligence about the assailants’ plans and decided to confront them at the boundary between the two areas.

Unfortunately, the vigilante commander lost his life in the encounter.

This incident is part of a larger trend of violence and intimidation by gunmen enforcing sit-at-home orders in the region.

In a similar incident, gunmen killed three members of the Community Vigilante Services (AVS) and set their vehicle ablaze in Ukpo Dunukofia Local Government Area.
