The Kebbi State Chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has strongly condemned the deadly attacks by the notorious Lakurawa group in Kebbi State.
Last Saturday’s violence resulted in 15 Yansa Kai volunteers killed and 6 indigenous Fulani people killed in reprisal attacks, with 185 Fulani settlements and 42 grain silos burned.
Lakurawa, described as international criminals, have been terrorizing pastoralists with forceful taxation and animal confiscation, extorting over ₦20 million and 120 cows from Fulani cattle rearers in Augie local government area.
MACBAN Secretary Abubakar Lamido urged authorities to investigate and bring perpetrators to justice, emphasizing that Lakurawa are hardened criminals unrelated to the Fulani community.
Lamido said, “We are worst affected by their illegalities,” appealing for support and assistance to victims who lost harvested foodstuff.
The association seeks urgent action to address the growing insecurity and protect innocent lives.
