No fewer than three students of the State College of Health Technology, Oji-River LGA, in Enugu state, was abducted on Wednesday.

Residents in the community blame authorities for keeping mute over the devastating incident.

The YorubaTimes learnt that some suspected herdsmen invaded the college and abduct three students at about 7:30pm on Wednesday.

The Command’s spokesman, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the kidnapping incident on Saturday night.

He mentioned two students has been rescued while three are still missing.

Ndukwe, however, dismissed the viral video, claiming that countless students were kidnapped at the College, describing it as false and an act of “mischief and misinformation aimed at misleading and creating panic among unsuspecting citizens.”

According to him, “Contrary to the spurious narrative in the viral video, in the evening hours of August 15, 2024, Police Operatives at the Oji-River Division of the Command received information alleging an act of abduction around the said college.

“They immediately hastened to the scene, rescuing two of the victims allegedly abducted, while three others are yet to be found. However, vigorous operations are ongoing to locate and rescue them, as well as apprehend the abductors.

“A preliminary investigation proves that the victims were driving out of the college when the seemingly targeted incident occurred.” he stated.

He also noted that all hands are on deck to ensure the safe return of the remaining missing students.
