The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has suspended Akomolafe Gbenga Michael, one of its officers serving at Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos, for multiple charges of alleged drug trafficking.
Akomolafe is being arraigned at the Federal High Court in Lagos.
The service in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, Deputy Comptroller of Immigration, Kenneth Udo, said Akomolafe had been subjected to internal processes and placed under suspension, following the allegations against him.
He added that the service would wait for the outcome of the case which started in May this before making further pronouncements on it.
