The Acting Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, DCP Waheed Ayilara, has directed all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in the state to sustain optimum security within their respective domains.

This was contained in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in Lagos, on Friday.

Ayilara, according to the statement, gave the directive while having a strategic meeting with the officers and other heads of department in the command ahead of the Yuletide.

The acting CP, during the meeting, reviewed the deployment of human, material and operational resources, especially at identified strategic and vulnerable points across the state.

He charged the officers to remain professional, and courteous, but firm in the discharge of their duties.

Ayilara assured the public that there would be continuous monitoring and evaluation of the deployed strategies as required.

He equally enjoined the residents to be vigilant, security-conscious and to promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
