Nigeria’s Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has been elected into the Global Executive Committee of The Inter-Parliamentary Union.
Akpabio made this known in a Facebook page on Friday.
He wrote: “History was today made in far away Angola. Just like we broke the Guiness Book of World Records, a 59-year old jinx was broken few hours ago when I was unanimously elected into the Global Executive Committee Of The Inter-Parliamentary Union.
“The last time a Nigerian was elected into this position was in 1964. To God be the Glory.”
