Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has placed a N10 million bounty on the killers of security operatives and unarmed passers-by in the state.

This announcement came during a condolence visit to the families of the deceased in Ihiala Local Government Area on Thursday.

The Governor’s visit follows the tragic incident on December 30, where gunmen attacked and killed two security operatives and five unarmed residents in the council area.

According to the police, the attackers began shooting sporadically at a venue where preparations were ongoing for a burial ceremony slated for January 2.

During his visit, Soludo urged residents of Ihiala to take an active role in fighting insecurity in the area.

He emphasized the importance of community leaders supporting security operatives with information to aid the fight against insecurity in the state.

“They (community leaders) must rise. They must not let this attack happen again,” Soludo said. “Anyone that will give information that will lead us to get these killers, the government will give that person N10 million. We are bringing N10 million on their heads – each of them.”

The Governor also placed a curse on the perpetrators, saying, “I am saying on behalf of Anambra State that all the people who carried out this attack and killings, their generation, will never see good things.

They, their children, and all their supporters will not witness good things.”

Soludo’s move is seen as a proactive step towards tackling insecurity in the state and bringing perpetrators to justice. The N10 million bounty is expected to encourage individuals with information to come forward and assist the authorities in their investigation.
