President Bola Tinubu departs for France on State Visit

President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Wednesday for a three-day state visit to France, following an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron.

The visit aims to strengthen political, economic, and cultural relations between the two nations and explore new opportunities for partnership.

During his visit, President Tinubu will focus on key areas such as agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, employment, innovation, and energy transition.

These discussions promise significant benefits for Nigeria.

President Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will be received by President Macron and his spouse, Brigitte, at the 350-year-old French military museum, Les Invalides, and Palais de l’Élysée.

The initial ceremonies will lead to bilateral meetings between the two leaders.

The visit will also involve discussions on stimulating interest in exchange programs focused on skill development for youths, improving their competencies in automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership. Additionally, President Tinubu and President Macron will participate in political and diplomatic meetings highlighting shared values on finance, solid minerals, trade, investments, and communication.

The France-Nigeria Business Council will also hold a session during the visit, overseeing private sector participation in economic development.

Furthermore, Brigitte Macron and Nigeria’s First Lady will discuss empowering women, children, and vulnerable groups through the Renewed Hope Initiative.

President Tinubu and his wife will be hosted at a state dinner by President Macron before their departure.

Top Government officials will accompany President Tinubu on the trip.
