Paystack has suspended its co‑founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, following resurfaced allegations of sexual misconduct involving a subordinate. The company confirmed it initiated a formal investigation into the matter.
The allegations surfaced after old social media posts by Olubi, reportedly dating from 2009 to 2013, resurfaced online. These posts included sexually explicit jokes and other content deemed inappropriate, prompting public concern and calls for accountability.
Paystack confirmed that the suspension is effective immediately and emphasized that the investigation is ongoing. The company described the process as “fair, transparent, and structured,” in line with its workplace policies. No further details about the allegations or investigation timeline have been disclosed.
Olubi has not publicly responded to the allegations. Paystack stated that it will withhold additional comments to preserve the integrity of the investigation and out of respect for all parties involved.
The incident has sparked broader discussions on professional conduct and accountability in Nigeria’s technology sector.
