Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Thursday flagged off the construction of the Akure–Imafon Road Project, describing the initiative as another clear demonstration of his administration’s commitment to infrastructure renewal and effective service delivery.

The flag-off ceremony, held at the NNPC–Imafon Junction along Igbatoro Road in Akure, attracted government officials, community leaders, and residents of the area who expressed delight at the commencement of the long-awaited project.

In his address, Governor Aiyedatiwa said the road construction was a strategic response to the long-standing yearnings of residents who have endured years of neglect and hardship due to the deplorable condition of the route.

He noted that the project aligns with his administration’s development agenda, which prioritizes infrastructural renewal across the three senatorial districts of the state.

According to the Governor, the event marked a significant milestone in the fulfilment of promises made during his electioneering campaigns and reiterated at his inauguration.

Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation to traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth groups, party faithful, and landlords in the area for their resilience and community efforts in maintaining the road network over the years.

He assured that his administration would continue to embark on people-oriented projects that improve the quality of life for residents and enhance the economic potential of communities across the state.

The Governor emphasized that the Akure–Imafon Road Project would not only ease traffic flow and improve accessibility but also stimulate social and economic activities within the region once completed.
