Children of Apostolic Faith Nursery and Primacy School, Emure-Ekiti, kidnapped on Monday by armed Fulani herdsmen have been released.
The children regained their freedom later this Friday evening after four days in captivity..
Sources told Irohinoodua that the children were taken to the Palace of Elemure of Emure-Ekiti after their release by their abductors.
It is unclear whether ransome was paid and how much.
Irohinoodua was, however, informed that the state governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, held security meetings daily since the Monday incident while security operatives were deployed into the forest in search of the children.
One hundred Amotekun operatives from Ondo State also joined in the rescue search.
A source at Emure told Irohinoodua that the released children were distraught and had emaciated after four days in captivity.
“We are grateful they have been released. The children are still in shock. This is what they have never experienced before. We are all traumatised” one of the teachers in the school told our correspondent.

Two teachers and a lady assistant were also abducted by the armed men.
