Ukraine has reportedly agreed to the framework of a revised peace deal presented by the United States, marking what could become the most significant step toward ending the nearly four-year conflict with Russia.
According to diplomatic sources familiar with the discussions, Ukrainian officials endorsed the amended terms during high-level negotiations with a U.S. delegation in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. The talks, held behind closed doors, focused on a new structure for potential ceasefire arrangements, security guarantees, and steps toward future negotiations.
A Russian delegation was also present in the United Arab Emirates at the time, though it remains unclear whether direct trilateral discussions took place or if the meetings were held separately. Washington has not confirmed whether the negotiations brought Ukraine and Russia into the same room.
The reported development follows months of intensified diplomatic activity, with the U.S. pushing for a workable framework that could halt hostilities while addressing core concerns of both Kyiv and Moscow. Details of the amended agreement have not been made public, and officials cautioned that acceptance of a framework does not equate to a final deal.
If confirmed, the breakthrough would represent one of the clearest signals yet that all parties may be moving closer to a negotiated end to the war, which has caused massive displacement, economic disruption, and widespread destruction across Ukraine.
