He described Abiola’s love for the country as genuinely pure.Balogun emphasized that June 12 is not merely a day but a moment to remember a hero who fought and made the ultimate sacrifice for Nigeria. He then prayed for the successful tenure of the present administration at the state and national levels.
Imam (Dr.) Tajudeen Ashaye, the Chairman of the Ad-hoc Committee, praised the depth of love MKO Abiola had for his country, to the extent of sacrificing his life for the people to experience the benefits of democracy. Sheikh Iskeel Lawal, the Consultant to the Governor on Islamic Affairs, acknowledged that Late Abiola is being remembered for his good deeds while he was alive. He prayed for Allah to grant him a place in paradise (Aljanah).Alhaji Olatunde Oladunjoye, a member of the Ad-hoc committee, referred to the late Abiola as a philanthropist who extended his love and support to many. He prayed for God to uphold his family and also for the current administration in Ogun State to successfully achieve its goals.Alhaji Tijani Nojeem, one of the pilgrims, acknowledged the struggle of the late MKO for democracy and stated that he will always be remembered. He expressed appreciation for the welfare package provided by Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration in the state, rating the accommodation, transportation, and other amenities as excellent compared to other states.
