NNPC Resolves Logistic Issues Behind Fuel Scarcity

April 29, 2024 1 min read

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has disclosed that the cause of the recent scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, in some areas of the country, has been resolved.

Although the cause of the scarcity was attributed to logistic issues, the NNPC reiterated that the prices of petroleum products have not changed.

This was contained in a statement by the NNPC Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, on Friday, April 26.

The statement reads: “The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) wishes to clarify that the tightness in the supply of Premium Motor Spirit currently being experienced in some areas across the country is a result of logistics issues and that they have been resolved.

“It also wishes to reiterate that the prices of petroleum products are not changing.”

The statement urged Nigerians to avoid panic buying as, according to it, products were sufficient in the country.
