Niyi Akintola (SAN) hotel, Bola Ige House, Akeredolu properties destroyed in Ibadan blast

As many Count loss of properties and business assets that has crumbled to ground zero by the tragic blast which also made many homeless.

The blast destroyed assets at 100m radius affecting clusters of businesses of which majority were hospitality business on Dejo Oyelese Street, Alabiamo Street, Adeniyi Street and Adenuga Street of Old bodija.

A circulating report ascribed to Niyi Akintola SAN, list numbers of businesses and properties destroyed belonging to the Yoruba SAN and businessmen.

“This marks the remnants of humble contributions to the hospitality sector in Ibadaland, following the explosions last night in Bodija. The affected establishment is a high-end hotel situated in the upscale area known as ‘House 40″ on Dejo Oyelese Street, Bodija.”

“Recalling the moments when some of our platform colleagues, including Alariwo, Wole Iyamu SAN, and H.E. Iyiola Oladokun, had enjoyed the comforts of the modest 24-bed facility, which comprises 8 suites, 3 chalets, and 13 standard rooms. Unfortunately, House 40, which shares a fence with the residence of H.E. Iyiola Oladokun, was completely destroyed.”

“Several other members of the Bar with properties on the same street faced destruction, including the late Chief Bola Ige SAN, the late Chief Bandele Aiku SAN, and a hospitality building reportedly owned by the late Governor of Ondo state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN. Additionally, my three other properties on Alabiamo Street, Adeyi Street, and Adenuga Street sustained slight damage, involving removed roofs, POP ceilings, sliding doors, air-conditioning units, and various electrical appliances.”

“This situation is truly distressing. As I pen down these words with trembling hands, I must report that some guests and three hotel staff members are currently in the hospital. Despite the gravity of the incident, we are grateful to God that no casualties were recorded. What an unfortunate way to commence the new year! Your prayers are urgently needed.”
