The Arole Oduduwa Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, has crowned Oba Olayinka Ilufemiloye II as the 47th Alayemore of Ido Osun and a member of the Osun State Council of Obas & Chiefs.
The Ooni declared that all crowns emanated from the throne of Oduduwa in Ile-Ife, saying, “All the crowns emanated from the throne of Oduduwa in Ile-Ife, and that is why I am privileged and honoured to place the crown on you today.”
In his acceptance speech, the new monarch, Oba Olayinka, thanked the Ooni for his charismatic leadership, stating, “Baba Ooni, we really thank you sir for coming to crown me as the 47th Olojudo Alayemore today.
“Your natural overall leadership on the entire Oduduwa race is unquestionable.”
Oba Olayinka described the Ooni’s leadership as “unquestionable” and criticized those questioning it, saying, “Those who are disgruntled about your number 1 position in our race are nothing but jesters.
“They will always fail because there is no Yoruba man, town or kingdom without Ile-Ife as its or his origin and that settles the hullabaloo.”
The monarch pledged to focus on education, healthcare, and international development, stating, “My reign will be anchored on education, healthcare, and international development to eradicate poverty. Let us work together as one family. Forward ever, backward never.”
The Ooni also thanked Governor Ademola Adeleke for his efforts in developing Osun State, saying, “I want to thank His Excellency on behalf of all crown bearers in Osun for his relentless efforts to develop Osun state and he has been carrying the traditional institutions along in his strives to move Osun forward.”
