Alaafin Owoade commissions historic mosque built in memory of late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi

In a grand ceremony, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, commissioned a new mosque built in memory of the late Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi (III).

The mosque, named Alfathu-L-Qareeb Muslim Organization of Nigeria, was constructed by Hon. Akeem Adeyemi, a lawmaker representing the four local government areas of Oyo.

The event, which took place on April 27, was attended by dignitaries, including Obas, chiefs, politicians, business leaders, and religious clerics.

The mosque’s construction serves as a tribute to the late monarch, marking three years since his passing.

The Alaafin’s presence at the commissioning ceremony underscores the significance of the project, which is expected to serve as a spiritual hub for the community.
