The Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, Lateef Gbadamosi Adebimpe, has passed away at the age of 79.

According to reports, he died on Wednesday.

As one of the high chiefs in Ibadan, Adebimpe was among those elevated to the status of an Oba.

Adebimpe was last seen in public on Friday, July 12, during the coronation of the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin, Ige Olakulehin I.

Sources revealed that he had been hospitalized since July 13.

Notably, his father, Oba Gbadamosi Akanbi Adebimpe, was the 35th Olubadan of Ibadanland, reigning for 18 months from December 10, 1976, until his passing at age 85 on July 17, 1977.

A reliable family source has confirmed that the late Osi Balogun’s remains would be buried at his family compound in Odinjo, Ibadan.
