Meta Reacts Through X as Facebook, Instagram Crash

March 6, 2024 2 min read

Billions of Mark Zuckerberg-led Meta’s Instagram and Facebook users were yesterday thrown into the dark as the social media platforms experienced total outage.

Users across the globe reported widespread problems, including being logged out, encountering error messages, and being unable to refresh their feeds.

This led to total panic across the world as users expressed panic and frustration.

One of the Facebook users, whose social media name, read ‘Misty’ said: “I went to go reply to a messenger dm and it totally kicked me out, tried to go on PC, it totally logged me off to the point I can’t log in on either messenger of Facebook.”

Another user with the name, Top_Noodle said: “Ok, our Data just sold out right now, nothing serious.”

Meanwhile, the exact cause of the outage is still unknown, but reports indicate that it is a bug preventing users from logging into their accounts.

Meta has not yet provided a timeline for when the issue will be resolved.

Also, Marcusio said: “Threads is out too- looks like team Meta is struggling today!”

Responding to the unfortunate incident, Meta’s Communication Officer who reacted through Twitter, Mr. Andy Stone, said they were working to fix the problem.

“We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now,” Meta spokesperson Andy Stone said in a post on X social media.

Also responding on this, Downdetector, a website that tracks outages, said it had recorded over 3,000, 000 Facebook outages and over 47,000 outage reports for Instagram worldwide.

However, unconfirmed report said the recent Facebook and Instagram outages were caused by technical issues affecting the platforms.
