FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee has handed Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez a two-game international suspension.

The decision follows Martinez’s controversial actions during Argentina’s World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Colombia in September.

Martinez held a replica Copa America trophy by his crotch after Argentina’s 3-0 win over Chile.

Also, Martinez slapped a cameraman’s equipment after Argentina’s 2-1 loss to Colombia on September 10.

The Cameraman Jhonny Jackson claimed he was “assaulted” and left “very angry” by the incident.

However, The Argentine Football Association (AFA) expressed disappointment, stating they had defended Martinez.

Martinez will miss two international games due to violating FIFA’s Disciplinary Code.

“Despite the defense made by the player and the Argentine Football Association, the Disciplinary Commission of the governing body of World Football made the following decision.”

Martinez, 32, plays for Aston Villa and is a key player for Argentina’s national team. This suspension may impact his participation in upcoming international matches.
